I'm righ...Thanks for visiting my blog, Beverly!
I'm right there with you as a slow reader myself. The only time I rip through a book is if it's really good like Nightshade or Geek High by Piper Banks. I got through those in like a day. But other then that, it usually takes me a couple of days to read a book. And if it's boring it might take me weeks. Just depends.Larissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02739647250724315874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1051848062156974901.post-67801972479184787832011-05-17T20:29:46.591-04:002011-05-17T20:29:46.591-04:00You have a lot of great sounding books here. I'm a slow reader, so it takes me awhile.Beverly Stowe McClurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02176195451841801819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1051848062156974901.post-68681421493190890252011-05-17T17:58:00.782-04:002011-05-17T17:58:00.782-04:00Thanks y'all for visiting my blog!
@Ryan Sul...Thanks y'all for visiting my blog!

@Ryan Sullivan-You've have interesting taste in books. I might have to check out Eragon and A Game of Thrones. They both sound interesting. I haven't heard of Brisingr though. I might recognize the cover, since I have a photographic memory, but I know the author for sure. All of those books sound interesting. Hope you have a fun time reading them!

Additionally, I applaud your commitment to read an entire book in French. I've always wanted to read an entire book in a completely different language. Maybe one day I will.

@sunniesarecool-I hope you go to the nearest library and read it! I can't believe I had it in my possession and didn't read it! So frustrated with myself for that, but it couldn't be helped. At least I'm enjoying Patricia Cornwell's book. It's the right balance between science and normal life that just makes it a good read. So far anyway. I hope you can find it and read asap!

Thanks again for visiting and following my blog! Have a great day of reading!Larissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02739647250724315874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1051848062156974901.post-62074379158189624612011-05-17T01:44:10.763-04:002011-05-17T01:44:10.763-04:00Really want to read Slice of Cherry by Dia Reeves

I might spend up to an hour on a book each night, reading only one to two pages every five minutes.)

I've got several books on the go, and I'll list them, but I've usually got just one I'm mainly focusing on.

- Re-reading Magician (Raymond E. Feist) in preparation of finishing the Riftwar Saga. Last time I read Magician was four years ago.

- Brisingr (Christopher Paolini). I haven't read any of this for months. I've stopped halfway through, where there is a massive sag.

- Eragon in French, just for practice and to learn some useful words and phrases, even if I don't understand a third of what's written.

- Atonement for school.

- The Name of the Wind (Patrick Rothfuss). I like this guy's style, except that he keeps using adverbs . . . several every page when people speak, and said bookisms to boot.

- A friend's manuscript for support. The language isn't as tight as I'd usually allow, but I'm managing to read through that and into the plot instead. There's no point having wonderful language if it will have to be cut because the plot isn't working.

- Finally, and foremostly, A Game of Thrones (George R. R. Martin). I admire Martin's style and while my prose will never be as formal, I'm enjoying incorporating a slightly more formal voice into my own work.Ryan Sullivanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11093880801598251933noreply@blogger.com
