Jones!

I have to say I'm right with you when finding a great idea while in church! My parents and siblings frown upon it but I think if God was mad, he would tell me so, lol! And I wrote/typed a whole poem right in the middle of class! It was so funny and embarassing. Here I am so sucked into the poem and finishing it that I when I looked up, I noticed that everyone in the classroom was staring at me!

Talk about embarassing!

The teacher thought I was doing an assignment but my friend, Leighton, knew that I was writing something.

Then a few months later it won an award of Poets Tongue! :)

Needless to say, even if other people don't get it, inspiration can come smack you anywhere! And if you don't have a phone or a notebook or something to write with then you can lose that thought or idea forever!

Glad to see you on my blog and don't worry, I'm still reading your wonderfully interesting book, The Spetvalent Stone!Larissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02739647250724315874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1051848062156974901.post-63005935441145774302011-05-31T23:20:55.060-04:002011-05-31T23:20:55.060-04:00Love this especially the tip about carrying a pen ...Love this especially the tip about carrying a pen and paper, yes i think pen and paper is better because just recently my phone screen got bad beyond repair luckily i copied everything in it to a computer. Taking pen and notebook is probably one of the most important tips because some times i find that (bless my soul) some ideas i get them while in church maybe during the announcement session, or at school during lectures of if an idiot says something idiotic in the real sense but you can twist it and all that. It can never be overemphasized. If you come to my place, you'll see bank statements, store receipts and all full of notes because i had no book on at the time. and who knows one of those ideas might fetch you a best seller titleVictor Olisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14545092169207937515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1051848062156974901.post-7857029270274511152011-05-23T15:36:50.323-04:002011-05-23T15:36:50.323-04:00Thank you all for visiting and commenting on my bl...Thank you all for visiting and commenting on my blog!

@KJ Kron-I know it is hard to think about writing out hundreds of pages but your work will be better. Trust me. I started out typing out everything and my work was messy and practically unreadable. Once I started writing it out by hand my work drastically improved. My book, Angel Diaries, got offered a publishing deal and that book I wrote out by hand. The first young adult book that I did. The improvement was that quick.

Writing is a lot of work. I've mentioned this above in my post and I'll tell you again: Writing is a lot of work. And if you want to be successful but be lazy, I don't see how you can be both. You've got to be able to put the work into it. And if that's by writing it by hand then typing it, then that's how it's going to be. I'm not saying that writing it by hand is for everyone but it's an option. And what's one of my tips: Consider your options.

Now you may view it as writing it twice. But really you're writing it once and editing it again. That's all I'm doing and it's worth the effort and the time I put into it.

I'll tell you what, I'll give you a bit of homework to do (since I am going to be a teacher soon, lol). Get a notebook. Doesn't matter what size or if it's been written in it before. Write out your ideas for your story. Then pick one to write about. Now, keep that notebook with you and write your story throughout the week. When you have a lunch break spend fifteen minutes writing and fifteen minutes eating. Do this for five days. Then when you're done, type it up.

Tell me your results and compare them to how you write when you're typing on a computer. There's no comparison. Try it yourself and see what happens. You might surprise yourself.

@Sharon: I'm glad my tips helped you! :) I'm glad you are carrying around a little notebook. Comes in handy, doesn't it, lol?Larissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02739647250724315874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1051848062156974901.post-16002947725558952882011-05-20T22:57:55.707-04:002011-05-20T22:57:55.707-04:00I have recently started carrying a small notebook ...I have recently started carrying a small notebook around with me to scribble down ideas for stories. I am too lazy to write everything I write twice. I like most of your advice but that is hard for me to follow.KJ Kronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02874600586992385488noreply@blogger.com
